Call center jobs are returning to the statesIndividuals who have graduated from help desk training may soon notice the increase in job opportunities in the customer service industry, as many companies are choosing to bring back their call center experts to the U.S.

More companies are looking to give customer service jobs to Americans, a reversal of the previous practice of outsourcing call center employees overseas, according to National Public Radio. Analysts noted that some customers felt frustrated because they were dealing with customer service representatives who were far away from them.

However, some businesses are weighing the costs, as some workers in overseas countries such as India are willing to take minimum wages. This is what is prompting a select number of corporations to continue their operations out of the country.

The news provider also reports that some individuals in the customer service sector are choosing to work from home rather than in a call center.

"It provides a lower cost point than other traditional means of onshore customer service," Chris Carrington, who runs Alpine Access, told the news provider.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, job opportunities in the sector are expected to increase by 18 percent through 2018.ADNFCR-2486-ID-19931919-ADNFCR
